Sleeping Budha Statues In Mojokerto Indonesia
Hi, i just want to share my experience couple month ago visiting Sleeping Budha Statues nearby my place. Its became one of the religious tourist destinations in Bejijong - Mojokerto. The location about 60 km from Surabaya. The statue was made on December 31 1989 but i just found out recently. Buddhists known to be very tolerant with various religions in the world. In Indonesia there is plenty of evidence of how civilization culture of Buddhism is very high as it is found in the reliefs of Borobudur. Entering the place where Buddha statue sleep, the atmosphere is so quiet . I met with some foreign tourists who were photographed near the statue. The statue is made of fiber with iron frame. Length of 22 meters, a width of 6 meters and 4,5 meter hight. Its quite large and this sleeping Buddha statue third largest in Asia after Bangkok, and the sleeping Buddha statue in Bandung . This sculpture maintenance performed by monks and nuns who live there.
